When a character slips down the Dread ladder, draw a reaction below. These are played, not tallied — describe the behavior and let it color the scene. Roll a d20 or simply choose the one that fits. Pull from the tier matching where the character sits: Rattled → Momentary, Breaking → Lingering, Fractured → Lasting.

A sudden shock at Rattled — passes in moments to minutes
